VEZ and VERIARTI
Arts Programming and Event Production It's the authenticity of working at a highly independent thinking record label that galvanized my experience and understanding of bespoke brand and band development as well as a passion for creative boundary breaking which is at the heart of everything I do today. |
10 Years at independent label Ninja Tune
My 10 years at Ninja Tune saw the lable grow from just 3 employees to over 30. I became Head of PR and Music Videos where I particularly enjoyed breaking new artists to the UK including cLOUDDEAD, Cinematic Orchestra, Kid Koala, Amon Tobin. As well as running the PR and marketing for it's legendary club nights Stealth, Yesmate, and Ninja Tune's 10 Year Anniversary multi-venue festival.
My love of the Music Video
My work in music videos also involved independent commissioning with Domino Records, FatCat and Rough Trade for artists such as Mogwai, Emiliana Torrini, múm, Four Tet, Imogen Heap and UNKLE feat. Ian Brown. I've judged various music video awards including the MVA's, Creative Review’s The Annual, and the coveted D&AD Music Video Awards; guested on various music and film industry panels around the world and co-founded a world re-knowned progressive music video showcase Antenna at the BFI. Teaming up with Jordan McGarry (then Editor of ‘shots’ magazine) guests included new and established cutting edge directors including Spike Jonze, Dougal Wilson and legends such as Tim Pope.
Antenna became one of the hottest tickets in London, wonderfully confusing the press by achieving “Gig of the Week,” and “Film of the Week,” simultaneously going on to tour internationally with The British Council.

My insatiable passion for independent culture
I project managed and ran the PR and marketing for the campaign to save grassroots legendary music The Cellar . The "Cellar Forever" Crowdfunder campaign smashed though it's original target raising over £92k from over 2000 supporters fall over the world. It gained national attention and the support of key figures including Radiohead, Ride, Jarvis Cocker, Nadine Shah, Gaz Coombes, Mr Scruff and Rick Stein to name a few. Crowdfunder UK sited it as one of the biggest campaigns on their site at the time. In 2022 I was invited to project manage community share offer campaign for The Ultimate Picture Palace - A 112 year old independent cinema. "Lights Community Action" again smashed through all three of it's original targets raising a total of £366k and making the cinema community owned. |
My alternative arts club Irregular Folks
Keen to continue putting a spotlight on exciting and adventurous acts I created alternative arts club Irregular Folks. The focus is on artists who think independently and clearly cut their own creative path. Irregular Folks' mini-festival Summer Sessions has achieved three years of Arts Council funding and in 2018 also won funding from PRS Foundation's Open Fund. Irregular Folks' has now re-awakened from it's pandemic slumber. The club continues to push the boundaries booking lesser known, as well as established artists in music, comedy, film and err Bingo - working with exciting venues and continuing it's following of wonderful people hungry for something a bit different.
